The books are Religion for Atheists by Alain de Botton and the Atheist’s Guide to Reality, Enjoying Life Without Illusions by Alex Rosenberg; see Victorian Humanist June page 6.

This is all too abstract for me. I need real life situations to become engaged and interested. I would say I like people and animals and like seeing them thrive and I don;t like seeing suffering and I don’t think there is any evidence for anything supernatural to help us. Which means it is up to human beings to make the world a better place for all. (not just for my family or tribe or nation ect. I am not sure I have understood the exercise. I do think we need to keep re-examineing all this constantly.
